Story

Disclaimer: As a proposed new school option pending PEP approval, this page includes developing content that is subject to change.

Next Generation Technology High School is a proposed public high school that prepares students for college, careers, and civic life through rigorous academics including a wide-range of AP course offerings, critical inquiry, and applied learning. Our program is grounded in the belief that students should understand the systems shaping modern life, not simply use them. That is why we pair strong instruction in reading, writing, mathematics, science, and communication with deeper study in computer science, data literacy, and ethics. This reflects the school’s larger vision of developing students with “ethical technological literacy” and preparing them to understand, evaluate, and build with technology responsibly.

Alongside advanced technology coursework, students will have opportunities to pursue pathways in business, music and digital audio production, world languages, and other areas of interest. Our aim is to graduate young people who are intellectually strong, adaptable, and prepared to thrive in college, careers, and a rapidly changing world.

Next Generation Technology High School empowers every student with ethical technological literacy; the ability to understand, evaluate, and build with technology responsibly. Through our competencies based approach and collaborative, project-based learning, students apply advanced mathematics, computer science, and ethical problem solving skills to real community challenges and civic action. Our scholars earn college credit, conduct research with industry partnerships and graduate as capable creators and civic leaders who expand equity and shape technology for the public good.

Next Generation Technology Mission Statement

Pathways

A coherent, advanced mathematics sequence paired with our competencies model builds the foundation students need for higher-level quantitative reasoning, computer science, data analysis, and application. For students who enter with Algebra I credit, the model is designed to support accelerated progression, including a pathway to Calculus by 11th grade and elective opportunities in linear algebra.
